Now Playing: My Baby's Voice on the Phone
Things here are flying really nice, the referendum committee is a success, we FINALLY got the amount of signatures we need. In fact, we got OVER the amount of signatures, just in case some were not valid. There's a brief meeting tonight at the Library to make a final count and go over these petitions for "strange" signatures. The committee that tried this, back in 1992, wasn't a success because we didn't have the current problems of today back then, so people were really happy to sign. Of course, we've got negative feedback, but only through printed newspaper a minor set back. The love of my life is still sleeping, I called him not too long ago and he's really tired. I guess he worked really hard yesterday at his job and requires the sleep. Besides, it's his day off and who am I to wake him up... so I'm letting him sleep. I'm sure as the day progresses, I'll be back to write more.

Now Playing: My Baby Aaron on the Phone
Well, today at the Currency Exchange was PRETTY DAMN GOOD if you ask me. In the 2 hours I was there, I got 110 signatures. My boss was really surprised about that. At the Liquor Referendum, I turned in my petitions to the chairperson of that committee and she was really impressed. My boss, Delaine, was really shocked. All I did was stuck my tongue out at them. Well, at the ZBDC, I think I scared a few people by the agenda with "Pending/Probable Litigation." The meeting was alright up to a point when we started talking about brainstorming for different ideas, like a city wide gift certificate program. Otherwise, the meeting was okay. In closed session (our first time having one) I turned off the recorder and started writing down different things people say and that was interesting. After the meeting, I had to inform my boss of how many hours I worked for the liquor referendum, the ZBDC and other projects I've worked on. So, that's a total of 50 hours, multiplied by $25... that's a nice check! hehehehe. Now, I'm home talking with my man that I love very much. We'll get to see each other this weekend sometime. I can't wait!

Well, today wasn't quite as warm as it was yesterday. I've got plans to visit the Currency Exchange in Zion to see if I can obtain more signatures for our liquor referendum. I sent out an email to all committee members, informing them of my plans. Tonight is also the ZBDC meeting, to where I play "Secretary." We're going to be discussing different issues. For example, the newsletter committee to where I set up the meeting and appointed a chairperson. I believe this committee won't last long, because just like my boss Delaine said, she doesn't like the idea that we're talking about different things, but not acting on them. I can relate to that. The ZBDC is also talking about having business cards, but I think that's a waste of money and time, but afraid to say something to the rest of the committee, fear that my thoughts will be shot down. Also, there's an executive session that I put on tonights agenda for pending and probable litigation. Technical stuff... oh my! I talked with my baby this morning, but it was only for a brief while because I had to drive somewhere for a task for Grandma. I've been trying to call him back since, but I'm sure that he left with his father. He does have the day off. I'll talk with him soon when I come home from: Signature Session, Liquor Referendum and the ZBDC meeting. Gotta love Wednesdays!

Well, the rest of the day since my earlier entry has been interesting. First, I went through my top desk drawer only to find some things that reminded me more of my Grandfather. For instance, I found the folder that I kept all his unemployment papers in. I also found the program that I made for his funeral when he died and inside that program, I found a personal letter to him from myself that was read at the service. Just when I finished, Elizabeth came by to "see how I was doing." She was telling me that she was purchasing a car for herself because she can't keep up with the payments on her brand new van, to which I told her long ago she couldn't handle. She needed someone to drive her car back while she picked up the one she purchased. So I volunteered myself to help her with the quest. While I was with her, my baby Aaron called. I thought it was really nice of him to do. I really do miss him VERY much. So, now I'm home and Aaron left with his brother to get his glasses fixed. He'll call me back later when he's home.

Now Playing: Days of Our Lives
Today would have been my Grandfather's birthday, he would have turned 69. Also today, would have been my Grandparent's anniversary, they would have been married 40 years. That's a LONG time to be with someone. I really miss him very much. Talking with my boyfriend, Aaron, today I was telling him how much I hope that he and I will be together for a long time like that. I still believe that he and I last a long time like that. City work is going alright, but been getting a lot of stress from committee members because of my "lack" or participation, which isn't true. I've been trying my best to keep this referendum together. There are other people that are on the committee who are doing a LOT less... but I still have faith in the referendum. Tomorrow will be the endurance test, we'll see how many signatures we have. A good friend of mine, Rose, introduced me to this new Blog website. I think it's a great place to have entries like this. Was really confusing at first on how to get this whole thing set up, but I think I got it. I'm sure I'll be using this more often, and I saved it in my Favorites folder.
